ABSTRACT The semi-arid climatic conditions persistent on some of the Ethiopian
heights, which on the average rise over 4000 masl and their global
locations relative to the Equatorial Latitude, have attracted the
attention of some countries that are active participants in Observational
Astronomy. The progress being made in promoting the country’s
natural resources in this area and the corresponding influx of positive
and encouraging responses are discussed
