Health Policy

Introduction

Ethiopia is a developing country with a predominantly rural population. The health status of the people is very low compared to similar third world countries.

Apart from the physical and cultural barriers that affect health services utilization by the Ethiopian peoples, the pattern of resources allocation has left most of the rural population without appropriate health care.

Although health problems of a particular community are specific to that community, there is no local capability to deal with them in the various regions of the country.
